Security+ Certification Training
Security+ Certification Training gives IT professionals a solid grounding in network security configuration, troubleshooting and common threats. The CompTIA Security+ Certification is a defining credential for employers, and gives employers confidence that IT employees are proficient in proper methods of securing data assets and network integrity. An industry-independent curriculum, Security+ training is an excellent prerequisite for further technical education, such as Cisco’s CCNA and Microsoft’s MCSE programs. In combination with Network+, Security+ can count toward Microsoft and Cisco certification programs, and can also serve to satisfy part of the Department of Defense 8570.1 Information Assurance directive for DoD employees and DoD contractors. This class trains students for the Security+ 2008 objectives (Exam SY0-201). v
CompTIA A+, Network+ & Security+ are lifetime certifications IF EARNED on or before 12/31/2010 -- thereafter, these CompTIA certifications will expire after three years unless renewed through exams or continuing education.
Recommended Prerequisites:Six-nine months experience as a network support technician, with experience configuring medium-large sized business network. Recent Network+ graduates can attend with Network+ or Security+ instructor recommendation or completed Network+ certification.
