The Strata - IT Technology certificate is ideal for individuals:
- new to the IT job market
- professionals changing careers to IT or technology-related fields
- individuals wanting to ramp up their ability to repair home computer issues
- employees of small or medium sized businesses who want to be better at addressing basic PC and network issues
Many entering an IT career will continue to pursue higher certifications in CompTIA A+, and with specialized experience, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+. This 7-week (42-hour) course prepares students for the 2009 edition of the Strata IT Technology exam.
Prerequisites: There are no formal pre-requisites. Experience using Windows XP, Vista or similar operating system is very helpful, but not required. Students should also familiarize themselves with the job responsibilities of a Computer Repair Technician so they can be prepared for the depth of material explored later in the course. Students should have regular access to a contemporary PC with internet access that is running Windows XP or later.
