A+ Certification
A+ Certification is the most
recognized and nationally respected certification program for entry level technicians. It
serves as proof of professional achievement, which can lead
to enhanced job opportunities, advancement, and ultimately to
customer confidence.

The A+ Certification Class prepares students to
become entry level computer technicians and reviews core content
areas of the CompTIA A+ Exam.
Test Overview: A+ Certification is a testing program established
by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) and is
sponsored by many of the largest PC manufacturers in the industry
such as IBM, Hewlett Packard, Apple, and Compaq. The program
certifies a nationally recognized benchmark level of competency for
service technicians in the microcomputer industry. Major computer
software vendors, distributors, resellers, publication, and the Association
of Field Service Management, International (AFSMI), also back the
program.
Class Objectives:
The A+ Certification class is intended to prepare
participants to become entry-level computer technicians and to pass
the computer industry standard certification exam. It
covers a core module of generic content areas. Technologies
include Microcomputers, Displays, Storage Media, Printers, Basic Operating
Systems (DOS, Windows, and Macintosh), Modems, Buses and CD-ROM.
Sections will also cover groups of related questions: Configuration,
Installing and Upgrading, Diagnosis, Repair, Preventative Maintenance,
Interaction with Customers, and Safety. This class will also

Network+
Certification
Network+ is CompTIA's certification
program for network technicians. It certifies that the technician
has knowledge necessary to configure and install TCP/IP networks and
clients. Typically, Network+ candidates have 18-24 months of experience
in the IT industry.
As business computer systems become
increasingly connected, the skills demonstrated by the Network+ certification
are becoming increasingly valuable.
